Vienna is famous for the arts. It is not known, however, for its street art. Nevertheless, over the past years, the city has started to appreciate this type of art more and murals have become much more than just the odd graffiti at a subway station.
This guide includes all the murals I have discovered so far. It is non-exhaustive; I am constantly updating it. If you have spotted murals in Vienna which I have not covered as yet, please let me know. You can send me an email or get in touch with me on Facebook or Instagram.
And to make it easy for you to explore Vienna’s murals yourself, I have made a handy map with all their locations.
4th District, Wieden
5th District, Margareten
6th District, Mariahilf
There are three major murals in Filgradergasse.
The faces on the garages in Filgradergasse 9 are by Austrian artist Golif.
There are multiple murals on the stairs but also around it.
There are multiple murals at Kaunitzgasse 33, one is by Stinkfish.
The murals at Hofmühlgasse are probably some of the most famous once in the city. There is another one by Stinkfish. I also really love the butterfly one.
7th District, Neubau
This was the first Stinkfish I discovered and it is still one of my favourite murals in Vienna.
There are two large murals at Andreaspark, right when you come to Andreasgasse from Richtergasse.
